In the field of journalism, one must realize how to properly manage an organization and properly disseminate information to his/her members. He/she must also know how to engage his/her members in order to make sure that the members would stay active and support the entire club. This session would teach you how to manage, not just a newspaper club, but any type of organization. The workshop would focus on leadership styles and team building exercises that would help enhance your skills in communication, cooperation, and active listening. The session would teach the participants how to be an effective student leader. This workshop also provides information on how to get your news article published on different newspapers across Qatar.
Romeo Ezekiel M. Ocfemia is a student of GEMS American Academy. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of THE LINK, the official campus newspaper of his previous school, PSD. He is currently the Writing Head for the GEMS Newspaper Club, as well as the Co-General Secretary of GAAQ Model United Nations. He has been a contributor for both Al Jazeera and iLoveQatar. He is currently working as a content writer for a website called iConnectF.com, producing weekly articles about community projects, as well as topics for families living in Qatar.He is one of the founding members of the GEMS Eco Club, and the deputy editor for the GEMS Yearbook. He attended THIMUN Conference 2020 as the delegate of Australia in the Disarmament and Security Council. He will be attending the Asia World Model United Nations in Bali, Indonesia, as well as the Global Goals Model United Nations in Bangkok, Thailand.
