Prison reform is a crucial topic of discussion. It is important for the youth to understand why research on prison reform is being conducted and in what way, as a community, can they help make it happen.
Prison can have all kinds of effects on prisoners both, physically and mentally. The Law Clinic team will focus mainly on the mental health of prisoners along with a brief introduction to prison reform. In addition, the Law Clinic team will discuss what can be done to reform prison systems, as well as create better mental health care for the prisoners who have had previous psychological issues or have developed some during their time in prison.
In the session, students from the Qatar University Law Clinic will work with QLC students to:
Fully understand prison reform and answer any questions regarding the topic.
Discuss what has been presented and have the students share their opinions, suggestions or objections.
Participate in interactive activities.
Have students participate in a small debate with the presenters.
