In this “Communications and Leadership” workshop, you’ll be discovering and learning to execute very useful communication skills, so that you may excel in your future public presentations. Indeed, struggling to deliver captivating speeches can sometimes undermine brilliant ideas: it all begins with and depends on the connection which you can establish between yourself and the audience.
Further, this workshop finds its spin through the parallel which it draws between public speaking and music. So, beyond going through excerpt studies and practical exercises alongside your colleagues, you’ll be finding out how these same skills can be implemented within musical compositions to make for immersive productions.
We all need to refine the way in which we interact with one another to our personal extents, and this workshop will hopefully be a joyful way of doing so, preparing you for the nerve-racking tests of advocacy, and giving you the edge in all of your diplomatic, legal, political and entrepreneurial endeavours.
Karim Al Moukhtar, Lycée Bonaparte, is a 16-year old high school student and musical artist in the making. A couple of years ago, Karim delved into the world of music production to understand the building process behind popular songs and create some of his own. Ever since, he’s been driven in mastering his craft, with the ambitions of joining the mainstream scene and inspiring others to do the same.
However, whilst working to solve issues inside of his committee, Karim ran into some difficulties and quickly understood how crucial public speaking was in properly conveying a message, subsequently making it one of his other long-term goals to become an eloquent and charismatic speaker.
Yasmine Djelouah, Lycée Bonaparte, is a French 11th-grade student who has been a prominent member of MUN since the 9th grade. She thoroughly enjoys being involved and informing herself about the issues across the world. Highly passionate about the values which MUN stands for, she immediately fell in love with the idea of young adults being able to share ideas and become leaders themselves.
Yasmine believes that the mastery of communication skills should be of high priority amongst young advocates, seeing as they are fundamental to forging healthy relationships and collaborating to make this world a better place.
