How do you know if someone is lying? Quick answer: Body language. Body language is the answer to all lie detection theories, whether it is eye contact, stature or even breathing patterns. The betrayal from our bodies is inevitable. But, what if I told you that in one 90 minute session you could master the art of body language manipulation; learn how to detect inauthenticity, and lie like a pro (Only white lies of course). Manipulating our body language is an essential skill that allows us to assert dominance, make the best first impressions and make the best arguments. So if you are ready to control the subconscious impression you give off, gain the ability to detect deception and learn to be a leader without having to declare it, you know where to go!
Mina is an ambitious Iraqi high school student, her passion for public speaking inspires her to be the catalyst for change and is what pushes her to be a youth advocate. From participating in several MUN conferences to attending every debate related event she could, Mina has been through quite a remarkable journey with leadership.
Mina is hopeful that with her voice, she can raise awareness on the pressing global issues of inequality and does not doubt the chances of change she is able to make on a global level. Mina has a keen interest in the issues pertaining to healthcare accessibility, she is aware of the flawed systems in many parts of the Middle East and the world. She hopes that through social change she could work towards establishing better healthcare systems and believes that conferences like MUN are a good way to start. Mina’s interests in social change have also fuelled her interest in the medical field, she hopes that in the future she could pursue a career in medicine whilst also working to reform poor healthcare systems around the world. In order to gain a wider perspective on what it is like to work in the medical field, Mina has attended conferences such as the Qatar High School Medical Conference and the Medicine Unlimited Outreach Event, she is looking forward to participating in this year’s Weill Cornell research competition.
