QGBC believes that schools are catalysts for social and behavioral change towards a more sustainable future. Engaging the young in a meaningful path towards driving change at their schools and later communities is essential. Through equipping you with knowledge, awareness, tools and outlining how to build community support, which is vital for your success! The workshop will brainstorm challenges that students and schools face in their journey to making your schools greener, attendees will discuss obstacles faced at a national level, starting from the school level, to creating a generation of sustainable minded and environmentally conscious students and citizens. QGBC will trigger the discussion about the importance of environmentally sustainable education, identify high priority themes and educational topics to be tackled through an action- based learning program through themes like, Water, Energy, food, health and wellbeing, global citizenship, school grounds, climate change, marine and coast, transport, biodiversity, waste and litter. Attendees will prioritize the themes and decide on only 4 themes to discuss and build their workshop.

At the Qatar Green Building Council, Hamoda coordinates sustainability integration efforts for a variety of projects, sustainability oriented initiatives, and programs As a LEED & WELL Faculty, he facilitates sustainability trainings, provides sustainability assessment and consulting. Hamoda studied Architecture, earning a Masters degree in environmental planning from Italy.
Ruba is a LEED Faculty BD+C, and is working as a Technical Specialist at Qatar Green Building Council, Ruba has managed and prepared a variety of sustainability oriented programs, workshops, guidelines and initiatives to promote sustainability and green practices targeting various community entities. Ruba has worked to provide sustainable assessment and consultancy services to drive sustainable performance, efficient operation and promote environment friendly culture. In addition to her work as a technical specialist for QGBC offered programs like Green Key, Eco-Schools and EcoCampus programs in Qatar.
