The beauty pageants is a competition that is mainly judged regarding the contestants physical features and physique however in some competitions they also judge talents and the contestants general understanding of the worlds problems . This workshop will discuss both sides on weather beauty pageants empower or objectify people and how different beauty pageants have used their platform in different ways and how some join beauty pageants for the wrong reasons . Unfortunately social media and society has placed unrealistic beauty standards and criteria that try to force individuals to look or dress in certain way . The workshop hopes to raise awareness regarding to this matter and also to highlight how pageant competition has a huge affect regarding to the contestants mental state.
Zainab Thaer Fawzi is a year 10 Iraqi student studying at Qatar International school she joined MUN since year 9 and has participated in some MUN conferences .Zainab aspires to become the president of the World Health Organization as she is interested in medicine , human rights, criminology and genetic engineering . She likes playing sports, especially tennis, basketball and athletics in her free time . She is extremely passionate to help other people she has also volunteered in different places such as the HMC and also participated in beach clean-ups as she is extremely passionate in regards to climate action , she also took part in the young innovators competition as she wants to help in accomplishing the sustainable development goals in Qatar. She aspires to become a doctor as she wants to help others and leave a positive impact in peoples health and well being . Zainab likes to surround her self with people that have different backgrounds and cultures ; and usually likes to talk to strangers she also enjoys reading Malala Yousafzai and John Green's books. She strongly believes that everyone can help in making a better environment for us to live in and that everyone is capable of achieving their goals .
