We’re thrilled to announce our very first Cold Water Dip & Outdoor Yoga gathering
Launching this Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Cockburn Reservoir near Stirling. We've created this event because we believe deeply in the powerful benefits of combining cold water immersion with mindful bodywork.
The Power Behind This New Experience
Cold water dipping isn’t just for thrill-seekers, it’s a natural way to support total wellbeing:
Boost your immunity: Cold exposure helps increase white blood cell activity, strengthening your body's defences.
Lift your mood: A sharp cold dip triggers endorphins and noradrenaline, helping you feel alert, positive, and stress-resilient.
Improve circulation & reduce inflammation: The cold constricts blood vessels, reducing swelling. When warmed up, circulation rebounds, promoting healing and vitality.
Support better sleep & nervous‑system balance: The ‘stress’ of cold immersion switches off your fight-or-flight response and shifts you into a calmer state, helping with rest and recovery.
Before we head into the water, a gentle nature‑based yoga and breathwork will help us tune in and ground our nervous system. This practice:
Relaxes the body and opens the chest for deeper breathing
Warms and mobilises muscles ahead of the dip
Supports mindful presence and emotional regulation, making the cold experience feel safer and more accessible
Nature-based yoga + breathwork by the reservoir
Guided cold water dip at your own pace . . . toe dip, partial or full immersion. You decide!
Final warmth: hot drinks, snacks, and connection time with others
Whether you're dipping a toe or diving all the way in, you’ll feel more energised, grounded, and alive.
Swimwear (whatever you feel comfortable in – swimsuit, wetsuit, or even just clothes you don’t mind getting wet)
Towel and warm layers (including hat, gloves, thick socks, and easy-to-change clothes)
Water shoes or old trainers (the ground can be uneven and cold)
Yoga mat or blanket (for breathwork and stretches)
Flask with hot drink (optional) – we’ll also have some warm drinks and snacks available
A camping chair or waterproof sit mat (if you’d like to sit post-dip)
Spaces are limited and this is the introductory gathering of its kind so far. If you've ever wondered what a cold dip could do for you, now’s the time to find out. Everyone’s welcome and absolutely no experience needed.
