Just A School Picture

Medium(s): Paint, Pencil

In my painting, I feel like I had to do a picture of myself because I want an actual visual of what I look like and see what I look like with a few levels of values. When I first started my drawing, I was copying the outlines of myself and it did not look right in the beginning. It looked like a bunch of scribble scrabble placed on a grid pattern. But, after I started painting and filling in the outlines with my colors, it all came together. I would say the most struggling part of the work was when I had to trace line for line and sometimes I got lost. But fortunately, my teacher helped me out with a little cheat sheet where we cut out matching squares of the grid and was able to trace my outlines better by looking at one specific section at a time. Overall, I believe this was a great painting I did for the first time being in this class.

Rise Up!

Medium(s): Color paper, marker

In this project, we had to choose a theme that would represent Social Injustice. I wanted to pick something that is happening in today’s world, so I choose to present artwork on the fight for equal rights/equality. The reason why I picked this topic is that I believe ever since the beginning of Covid-19, there has been way too much killing of blacks because of their race. I mean hundreds of people and innocent black people are being killed based on their color and it is not justice at all. For instance, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, and many more. In this project, I wanted to show how everyone is equal and we should show equality to all around us no matter the race or gender. We are the United States of America, we supposed to be ONE united nation, not multiple separate nations. By having everyone fight for equality between all, this world would become a better place to live in, better yet, a more healthier world.

Destiny At Its Finest

Medium(s): Gouache, Color Pencil, Paint Brush

For this art work, I want to capture a moment of my dream and paint it out on paper. This is what I pictured out. This dream escape took a lot of time and effort to put together. The details behind goes by this... The person in the art work represents me, and the path I am walking represents a destiny that I have to get to. The destination I have to get to is the moon. The moon symbolizes peace and homage. The trees have shadows underneath them and the shadows represent fear and distraction that are trying to get in my way in order to get where I would be satisfied in life. Once I reach to my end-point, the sky is the unlimited for me, that why I had input a gradual scale from the blue sky to the dark sky to represent limitless range. Overall I believe this piece of my art work has been the best I've done so far, and it really a heart warming feel towards it as well.
