Kitchen Management
Guidelines and Information
The Village School will work closely with Flik Independent School Dining to ensure the following Kitchen Management guidelines:
Students are provided with pre-packaged food options.
All snacks are pre-packed for Finna.
Finna & Elementary students eat their lunch inside their classrooms and have pre-packaged meals delivered to their classrooms.
All food safety and hygiene standards are strictly enforced.
Standard kitchen cleaning protocols are strictly enforced, with all surfaces regularly sanitized throughout the day.
No unauthorized personnel will be allowed in the food preparation or serving area.
Finna & Elementary Lunch
Students will continue to eat in their classrooms.
Students eating from the lunch menu will be offered a simplified set of choices that include vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Each day, teachers/assistants will outline the lunch menu and place orders for students.
At lunchtime, ordered meals will be delivered to the classrooms.
Students will wash or sanitize their hands before and after lunch.
Students will eat independently in their own area. Sharing of food or drink is not permitted.
Areas used by students or staff members will be thoroughly cleaned after use by each group.
Middle & High School Lunch
Lunch breaks will be staggered to minimize student interaction in the cafeteria and eating areas.
Students and staff will wait at indicated safe physical distances when lined up for food service and move in indicated directions.Â
Multiple areas will be available for eating break time, with both inside and outside options (weather dependent).
Areas used by students or staff members will be thoroughly cleaned after use by each group.
Students will wash or sanitize their hands before and after lunch.
