The fingerboard was lifting off the neck.
The fingerboard desperately needed to be cleaned.
The electronics were cheap old pots.
There were quite a few dings and knicks. I colored them in quickly to make them less visible.
The guitar gutted and ready to be cleaned.
I glued the fingerboard back on.
I cleaned up the nut channel
Polished fret on the left and unpolished on the right.
After cleaning the frets and fingerboard.
I darkened the nut channel
The nut blank.
After marking the nut slots for string spacing I used this to get the nut to the correct height.
I had to enlarge the holes for the new pots to fit through.
The new electronics.
The nut after i polished it.
The finished guitar. The Victory pickup in this one sounds awesome.
Update
The customer originally wanted this to be a slide guitar but after playing it, wanted it to be a daily player so we decided to upgrade some hardware.
To keep the finish intact I used my reamer to get the finished part to the correct width.
I filled in the old tuners holes
Lined up the tuners
marking the holes for the tuner screws.
The new tuners installed.
Since we switched from slide to a Daily player I leveled the frets for the best playability.
The frets polished up.
The tune o matic bridge installed.
The new finished photo. This one is a cool guitar. Awesome patina, great playability and that victory pickup sounds awesome!!
