The crack in the heal looked to be just in the finish at first but after a flex test its a crack in the wood. With not a lot of flexibility it was hard to get glue to pernitrate the crack. I thinned down some glue with water and used a syringe to push the glue into the crack.
Before i cleaned up the glue squeeze out.
Sanding the leftover glue area to clean it up.
Before I polished it back to a gloss finish. The customer didn't care about the looks of the instrument they just wanted it playable for there kids.
I leveled out the frets.
Polished and cleaned the fretboard.
This is how much i wanted to remove from the saddle to get the strings to sit at a reasonable height.
marking the line on the saddle to sand to.
Sanding the saddle.
Fixing the nut slot depth.
Got the action to 4/64ths across the board. For a cheap starter guitar this one set up pretty nice with a little work and know how.
