Pickups: Originally Two Ripper humbuckers. These were replaced with two pickups from a Gibson EB bass
Scale: 34 1/2"
Body: Three piece alder body.
Neck: Three piece set (glued in) maple neck. Maple fingerboard. Adjustable truss rod.
Hardware: Q-system electronics: 1 volume, 1 tone and 1 midrange control. Gibson 3-point bridge.
This was a fun project. The bass came to me with no pickguard, no Pickups, No electronics, the customer wanted to go with humbucker pickups and replace the nut for a Adjustable nut.

I installed new shielding

I also shielded the back of the pickguard. With humbucking pickups you don't normally need shielding but the customer wanted to make sure there was no unwanted noise.

This one got a cool 6 way 2 pole rotary switch installed.

The bass is wired with jazz blend controls to allow each pickup to have its own volume knob with a master tone knob.

Position 3 Bridge humbucker
Position 4 bridge single coil
Position 5 Both humbuckers together
Position 6 Both single coils together.
There it is the 1976 Gibson ripper. I enjoyed this one a lot!
