I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and unofficial start of summer!! This is a four day week, the last week of May. It's going to be a busy week in kindergarten. On Tuesday, Mrs. McCoy and Mrs. Yerkes will come in to finish the end of the year t-shirt. On Friday, we will have "Careers on Wheels" in the church parking lot. It should be a lot of fun for the children.

Phonics: This week we will learn about 'r' controlled vowels. Our sight word this week is ARE. One more week of word lists. We will continue practicing sentence writing and reviewing compound words, rhyming words and rhyming words.

You will receive a word list in your child's folder on Monday. Please practice with your child and check off the words as the correctly say them. Please send the sheet back in to school when they can correctly read each word.

Letters in kindergarten: L, O, G, H, T, P, A, N, M, I, F, R, S, K, B, U, Z, C, E, Y, D, V, J, X, W, Q

In math we will make and break apart numbers up to 20. Children will also practice writing numbers over 20. We will practice using our counters.

We will learn about Memorial Day and do a craft. (Did not get to it last week)

Hello Kindergarten Families, Happy summer!!! I hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying the time off with your family. For those of you that are new to St. Ann's School, welcome to this amazing community. My name is Carol Burns and I am looking forward to a great school year. Together with Colleen Albensi, we are blessed to be teaching together. After many years of being home raising my 2 boys, I started teaching at St. Ann full time in 2020. Prior to that I was a substitute teacher here at St Ann School, and spent many years as a volunteer. Both of my boys graduated from SAS, Harrison in 2016 and Jack in 2018. Coleen Albensi “ Miss C” has been the kindergarten teaching assistant for over 30 years. We are looking forward to a great year! . We want your child to have a fun and successful year in kindergarten. Our mission is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment. Our academic focus is to build strong foundational skills the children will need as they progress through their school years. We will learn to be followers of Jesus in our thoughts and deeds.
