About Me

My name is Dr. Jenelle Strecker. I have been in education since 1997. I have been a Reading Recovery Teacher, Title I teacher, 1st Grade Classroom Teacher, and Reading Interventionist. I am currently a Reading Specialist working with students in grades K-6.

I have Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, and Doctoral Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. My doctoral dissertation focused on Research Proven Practices and Programs in Reading.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. These are my favorite titles! I enjoy camping, riding my dirt bike, sewing and cooking with my mom, growing a few plants and vegetables, fermenting, and working on lessening my impact on this earth through reducing, reusing, recycling, and repurposing.

We are huge University of South Dakota Coyote fans and supporters at our house! My husband and I are both alumni. Our daughter is currently a biology major at the University of South Dakota as well. Go 'Yotes!

I am passionate about reading and the color purple! Thank you for letting me share my passion for reading with you and your students.
