HISTORY c
Pili’s Party Taco started by Maria del Pilar Gonzalez in 2016 in the backyard of Maria del Pilar Gonzalez and Armando Piquinto. Maria del Pilar Gonzalez started it because she wanted to make something for her daughters. She struggled to help her oldest daughter with her homework due to a language barrier, so she wanted to prove to them that she could still help and support them. She also started it because she wanted to bring poblano food to Bloomington and share it with people in Bloomington.
Maria del Pilar Gonzalez made tacos and other Mexican food for a party she was hosting, and the people at the party liked it so much that she started selling tacos and other Mexican food in her backyard. As time went on, they were shut down because they were not allowed to have a business in their backyard, so they later turned it into a food truck in 2017. In 2020, they got their first building called Pili’s Party Deli; they wanted to make their building bigger, so they bought the building next to their current location and then broke the wall to expand the building. Today they have a store and three food trucks.
