Pre-Gathering Prayer | 10:00am
Join us in Andy's office (beside the side door near the conference room) for a short time of prayer using the Weekly Prayer Guide each Sunday morning. We hope that you will use this guide and our focal areas of the week in your own prayer time as well.
If we can pray specifically for you, your family or you have a prayer request to add to the Weekly Prayer Guide, please contact our elders.
Gospel Encouragement for the Fragile | 2 Corinthians
Began August 9th
Our next sermon series will be through 2 Corinthians. Now, if you’ve been a part of The Point for a while, you might ask, “Wait, haven’t we yet to do 1 Corinthians?” That's true! But while these letters were written sequentially to the same local church, they address different pastoral situations.
I wanted us to study 2 Corinthians next because I [Pastor Andy] have found it to be one of the most encouraging books in the whole Bible. On any given Sunday, I can walk row by row—almost chair by chair—through our Gathering Space and name the burdens, heartaches, and trials that we are currently walking through.
Our struggles and suffering reveal a simple truth: we are weak and fragile. But life is fragile by God’s deliberate design. He has chosen to reveal His surpassing glory through humble "jars of clay." That was true of the Apostle Paul when he penned this letter, and it is from that place of weakness that he writes to encourage us.
In 2 Corinthians, Paul reminds us that the gospel is good news for the fragile, that the church should be a safe place for broken people, and that God’s strength is perfected in our weakness. Many of us are suffering, but none of us suffer from being encouraged too much, so grab a copy of a 2 Corinthians ESV Scripture Journal and let’s learn of God’s comfort, Christ’s triumph, the Spirit’s glory, and our mutual hope in our Heavenly dwelling that is to come.

🎵Sunday Song Spotlight | Grace Alone

Nothing I did could ever atone
