Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade at TMS attend Spanish as part of their rotating exploratory schedule. The focus of exploratory Spanish is to:

1. Introduce basic words and phrases that are used in daily interpersonal communication. The emphasis is on listening comprehension and speaking/interacting in Spanish, with an introduction to basic reading and writing skills.

2. Introduce students to the diversity and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Culture is taught in a fun, developmentally appropriate context.
