Urban Green Resilience Hubs
TMC Leadership (Desiree Riley & Prudence Browne) with Nicetown-Tioga Community Ambassador Mary Campbell.
URGH Mission
The Urban Green Resilience Hubs initiative by TMC is dedicated to transforming vacant lots in Philadelphia’s underserved neighborhoods into vibrant green spaces that foster environmental sustainability, community resilience, and holistic wellness. By incorporating green infrastructure, food distribution, arts and cultural events, and wellness programming, we create safe, healing spaces for community members to gather, grow, and thrive.
Our goal is to equip residents with the knowledge and resources to reclaim their environment, strengthen community ties, and promote long-term resilience. Through partnerships, workshops, and hands-on engagement, we empower individuals (especially those impacted by poverty, trauma, and the criminal justice system) to take an active role in shaping healthier, thriving, and more vibrant neighborhoods.
