The Community Land Lab at The Hive Interactive Center™- Davie

Seasonally. our learners have embarked on an exciting journey of growing vegetables and fruits for our unhoused community members to enjoy. This initiative has brought everyone together, fostering a sense of community and support. We’ve successfully grown wildflowers, carrots, tomatoes, and a variety of herbs.

One of our enthusiastic learners dreams of creating a new sauce to rival today’s ketchup, experimenting with fresh flavors from our community garden. This project has not only united us but also ignited a shared passion for growing food.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Vela Ed Fund, for awarding us a grant to purchase and stock our greenhouse. This support has given us the freedom to transform our learning experience. At The Hive Interactive Center™, we are committed to merging technology with nature in a sustainable way. Our learners have integrated several solar-powered elements, including a pond pump for a repurposed kiddie pool, solar fans, and solar lights.
