Our learners decided to begin growing vegetables and fruits for our elderly community members to enjoy. This sparked an opportunity for everyone to come together and support us. We have grown wild flowers, carrots, tomatoes, and dozens of herbs. One of our learners would like to some day develop a sauce that will replace today's ketchup. He experiments with flavors grown fresh in the community garden. This was a great way to bring the community together and share a love for growing food.

Thanks to the Vela Ed Fund, for awarding us with a grant to purchase and stock our greenhouse, giving us the freedom to transform the way we learn. The Hive Interactive Center™ loves merging technology with nature in a sustainable way, so learners added several solar-powered elements, including a pond pump for the re-puposed kiddie pool, solar fans, and solar lights.
