H. Tammy Cha, LCSW, is originally from Orlando, FL, and is a two-time graduate of the University of Central Florida—Go Knights! She earned a B.S. in Health Services Administration with a minor in Health Sciences, followed by a Master’s in Social Work.
In 2013, Tammy completed her Clinical Social Work Fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She has worked in both acute and ambulatory care settings, and in 2014, helped pilot a Hepatitis C Social Worker program at MedStar Health Research Institute. During her time there, she was cited in several evidence-based, peer-reviewed journals.
Currently, Tammy works with adolescents and adults managing substance and alcohol use disorders, as well as helping individuals navigate racial identity issues, religious trauma, depressive disorders, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and pet-related grief and loss. She approaches her work from a trauma-informed perspective.
Tammy is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has completed training in Brainspotting. She emphasizes an empathetic, client-centered approach using solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based CBT, and strengths-based methods, while working to eliminate barriers to care. As an Enneagram 2, Tammy has a natural affinity for serving others and finds joy in watching her clients grow into better versions of themselves.
