The Citadel ("the app") is made by INCON (KvK 81073615), info@thegreatstoic.com. This page explains which information the app collects, why, who receives it, and how you can have it deleted. You never need an account, and the app never asks for your name or email address.
Your streak, saved quotes, saved tracks, reminder settings, widget settings, and your answers in the 30-day programs are stored only on your phone. We cannot see your program answers. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone itself. The app does not use push notifications from a server.
If you save a quote as a wallpaper, the app asks permission to add the image to your photos. The app does not read your photos.
We use PostHog to see how people use the app, so we can improve it. For example: which tracks are played, whether a track is listened to until the end, which screens are opened, whether a program day is finished, and whether the subscription screen was shown. PostHog also receives the phone type, the operating system version, the app version, the language and the approximate country. If you send us feedback in the app, PostHog receives the text you typed.
You are identified in PostHog by a random code that the app creates. That code is not linked to your name or email address. PostHog stores this information on servers in the European Union.
If the app crashes or an error happens, Sentry receives a report: what went wrong, the phone type, the operating system version, the app version, and the same random code as in section 2. We use these reports only to fix errors. Sentry stores them on servers in the European Union.
We post on social media. Linkrunner tells us which of our posts or links led to your install, so we know which posts help people. Linkrunner receives device information, such as the phone type, the operating system version and the IP address, plus the same random code as in section 2.
On iPhone, Linkrunner only runs if you tap "Allow" when your iPhone asks whether Citadel may track you. If you allow it, Linkrunner also receives your iPhone's advertising identifier. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", Linkrunner is not used on your iPhone. You can change this later in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, Linkrunner uses the install information from Google Play, and can use your phone's advertising ID unless you deleted or turned off that ID in your phone's settings.
We do not show ads in the app, and we do not sell your information.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple and Google. We never see your card number or billing details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information and the same random code as in section 2. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address or payment details.
We use the information in sections 2 and 3 because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. We use the information in section 4 on iPhone only with your permission, and on Android because of our legitimate interest in knowing which posts bring people to the app. We use the information in section 5 to deliver the subscription you bought.
We keep usage information and crash reports only as long as we need them to improve the app, and delete them when you ask us to (see section 8).
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email info@thegreatstoic.com and we will help you. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
To stop a subscription, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
The Citadel is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
