How to get books

FAQ for Ms. Rodi

  1. What do we do if we have not returned a library book and it is still in the time of Covid?

No worries. I'm so happy that you still have the book and it isn't lost. You can hold onto the book until school physically reopens or you can return it to the Lower Campus office at your convenience.

  1. What do we do if we lose a book?

Email me mrodi@theglobeacademy.net and we can figure out a reasonable replacement option. My family has lost many library books over the years. I understand your dilemma.

  1. Can I donate books from my home that we no longer need?

We welcome book donations that are in excellent condition. We prefer hardcover books. Non fiction books need to have been published in the last ten years. Honestly, I want to be careful about the books that are in the library. I would like to insure that books are representative of the diversity at GLOBE and of our community. I would like to have books that do not focus on gender as a inflexible construct. My most wanted books are books that are representative of the #ownvoices . Although I am a huge fan of recycling and sharing books and of free books coming into the library, I am curating a collection of which we can all be proud.

  1. Do you have a list of books that you would like for parents to purchase if possible?

Not at the moment. Due to the generosity of parents and the PTCC, we are in the process of adding new books to the library- which is a very lucky position to be in. There will be future opportunities to add to our collection.

  1. How can I help?

I love volunteers. Email me mrodi@theglobeacademy.net and we can find you a job however large or small.
