How to support learning Spanish at home?

At home, you can:

Listen to and dance to music in Spanish
Read books in Spanish and ask what the characters' names are. Where did the story happen? How would you feel if ________? What was your favorite part of the book?
Watch movies in Spanish, activate the caption, and ask what is happening in the story.
If you speak Spanish at home and your child replies in English, remind them to use Spanish to communicate.
Visit Hispanic restaurants and encourage your students to order food/beverages or to greet the waitress.

Unit 4: Numeros hasta 99

Overview This unit develops students’ understanding of the structure of numbers in base ten, allowing them to see that the two digits of a two-digit number represent how many tens and ones there are.

Unidad 2 de matematicas: Addition and Subtraction Story

Overview

In this unit, students learn to solve new types of addition and subtraction story problems and relate the quantities in the stories to equations.

Here, students encounter most of the problem types introduced in grade 1: Add to/Take From, Change Unknown, Put Together/Take Apart, Unknowns in All Positions, and Compare, Difference Unknown. The numbers are kept within 10 so students can focus on interpreting each problem and the relationship between counting and addition and subtraction. This also allows students to continue developing fluency with addition and subtraction within 10.
