History
History
With prehistoric, Roman, Anglo-Saxon and medieval remains within its parish, Pirton has long been a place people called home. It is a buzzing close-knit community full of everyday goings on. The 'continuing enthusiasm' is further highlighted by The Friends of Pirton Parish Church being a registered charity - building on the original concept of 'Founder Members' whose far reaching ideals in the early 1970's were to form an association raising funds to be pledged for the fabric renovations at St.Mary's Church.
