It’s essential to first understand brain function and how it influences behavior, an area often missing from traditional education. Learning about key areas like executive functioning, language, and memory and how they relate to behavior is crucial.  It is also important to explore how prenatal alcohol exposure, trauma, and other factors can affect brain development. This knowledge empowers clinicians to start reframing behavior and progress toward becoming a brain-based, informed mental health clinician.
