Beta Club's Third Annual Red Cross Blood Drive - Sign up for Thursday, February 27
The Beta Club is sponsoring the Third Annual Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, February 27, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Gym for students 16 years and older and their parents as well as faculty and staff.
Severe winter weather and wildfires have forced thousands of blood donations to go uncollected. There is an emergency shortage for types O negative and B negative blood. However, all blood types are needed!
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. One blood donation can save up to three lives. Blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
Together, the Fletcher School has donated 63 units of blood over the past two years, which has the potential to save 189 lives. We hope you will join us to increase that number this year!
We still need 11 donors to reach our goal--please sign up today! Please email Natalie Mays at nmays@thefletcherschool.org or use this link to sign up.

Join Trina O’Connor, Lower & Intermediate Schools Division Head, for a convenient virtual session about Fletcher’s updated approach for assessing, evaluating, and reporting student progress in grades K-5.
This session is designed to help you prepare for Parent Conferences and build a home-school partnership that fosters collaboration through understanding along your student's learning journey.
During this gathering, Lower School parents and guardians will learn how to:
Interpret Progress Reports.
Understand the academic skills we measure in reading, written expression, and math—and why.

Utilize the Skills Report to support your student’s learning at home.
Connecting Stories & Legacies Webinar
Tuesday, February 11: Join ADL Education, Echoes & Reflections, renowned author Gordon Korman, and Rachelle Goldstein of the Hidden Child Foundation for the Connecting Stories & Legacies Webinar that delves into the role of storytelling in understanding antisemitism—past and present. Gordon Korman, author of over 100 books for children and young adults, will read from Linked, his middle-grade novel (available to our students as an audiobook in Learning Ally).
Linked follows the story of a middle school rocked by the appearance of swastikas—and the students’ efforts to turn division into unity through a school project. Rachelle Goldstein, a hidden child during the Holocaust, will share excerpts from the narratives of the youngest Holocaust survivors, bringing to light the resilience found in their stories. Discover how these narratives connect in surprising and meaningful ways during the discussion, as Gordon and Rachelle illuminate the power of storytelling to confront hate and foster understanding.
