Community News

Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-Up

• Please help us keep traffic moving by continuing to the main exit if the right-turn exit-only lane is backed up. 

• Drivers may turn right or left at the main exit and will continue to be assisted by Officer Martin.

• Please help us keep traffic moving safely by adhering to the directions of all staff working carpool.

• Please watch for pedestrians on the sidewalks as you exit campus.

Don't Forget Fletcher Bowling Night - This Friday, August 23

• Thank you to all our families who have RSVP'd for Fletcher Bowling Night hosted by Parents' Council! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow from 6-8 p.m. at Bowlero 10 Park Lanes, 1700 Montford Drive, Charlotte.

• We have reached our event capacity, and registration is closed.   

ESA+ and Opportunity Scholarship Recipient Families

• Beginning next week, the certification and endorsement process with NCSEAA will commence for ESA+ and Opportunity Scholarship award recipients.

• Please be sure to frequently check your email for instructions from Tracy Grocott on how to complete the parent endorsement portion of the process.

Picture Day - Wednesday, August 28

• St. John's Photography will take individual yearbook pictures on Wednesday, August 28.

• St. John's recommends you dress your child as you normally would instead of formal clothing that may inhibit their candid shots.

• Make-up picture day is Friday, September 13.

• ENOTES will post when online proofs may be viewed, and ordering is open.

New Fletcher Spirit Wear Options - Order by Sunday, September 8

• Check out our new selection of Fletcher spirit wear from Achieve Athletics. This new store will close on Sunday, September 8, to enable fast delivery of items ordered for the fall. So place your order soon! 

• The Achieve Athletics store will open again at later dates, and Parents' Council will provide spirit wear sales throughout the year at select home games and events.

Parents & Guardians, Mark Your Calendars - Wednesday, September 18

• The Fletcher School Board of Trustees is beginning their year-long strategic planning process this fall, working with MehtaCognition. 

• Parents and Guardians, please join consultants Nishant Mehta and Jay Rapp on Wednesday, September 18, at 8:30 a.m. in the Rankin Room as they visit and get to know our school better.

Fall Festival Canceled This Year

• Because of the construction on the field this fall, the School and Parents' Council have decided not to host the Fall Family Festival this year. While there was consideration for a smaller event, we did not want to downsize the full and fantastic festival atmosphere that families are used to. We look to come back better than ever in 2025, when we have full use of our Fletcher facilities.

Remember Your Required Medical Forms

• Visit the Back-to-School page under Medical Forms for important information about required medical forms for 2024-2025 including the Medical Authorization Form, Physical Exam and Health History Form, and various Emergency Medication Action Plans.  

• In order for medications to be administered, forms must be returned and medications must be delivered to our School Nurse, Julie Davis.

Lunch Orders and Dining Options 

• The August and September lunch menus are linked at the bottom of ENOTES under Helpful Links and are also available on FACTS Family Portal. 

• Orders are due on Thursdays for the upcoming week.

• When ordering lunch, consider adding your child's after-school drink and snack, too.

Reservations for Painting the Spirit Rock

•  If you wish to reserve a specific date to celebrate your child’s birthday, please email frontdesk@thefletcherschool.org to make your reservation and get helpful instructions and tips.  

2024-2025 Parent Volunteer & Driver Sign-Up Form

• Parent field trip drivers and athletic event drivers make it possible for students to experience off-campus learning and competition. If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer/approved driver for 2024-2025, please follow these steps:

• Login to your FACTS Family Portal and select Web Forms from the School Menu in the left-hand column.

• Choose 2024-2025 Parent Volunteer and Driver Sign-up.

• Complete the Web Form and remember to Save (which will submit the form).

• Volunteers are required to undergo a criminal background check and driving record review. Once your completed form is received, you will get an email from Praesidium, requesting information and approval for the background check and driver review.

• Once you have been approved, you will receive a confirmation email from The Fletcher School, and your name will be placed on the school's Parent Volunteer/Approved Driver listing that is accessible to your child's teacher.

Lower School News

• Tonight, August 22 - Lower School Curriculum Night from 6-7:15 p.m. 

  • Parents will gather in the following locations by grade level:

    • Kindergarten - Meet in the Kindergarten Classroom

    • First & Second Grade - Meet in the Kindergarten-Third Grade Foyer, First Floor

    • Third Grade - Meet in the Technology Learning Center (TLC)

    • Fourth Grade - Meet in the Dining Hall

    • Fifth Grade - Meet in the Rankin Room

• Please label all items, such as water bottles, lunch boxes, and sweatshirts.  

• Do you need another window tag for carpool? Fill out this form, and we will send one home with your child. For parents who regularly carpool with other families, it is helpful to have window tags for all the students who carpool with you.  

Middle School News

• Thursday, August 29 - Middle & Upper Schools Curriculum Night from 6-8 p.m.

Upper School News

• Thursday, August 29 - Middle & Upper Schools Curriculum Night from 6-8 p.m.

• Do you need another window tag for carpool? Fill out this form, and we will send one home with your child. For parents who regularly carpool with other families, it is helpful to have window tags for all the students who carpool with you.

• As a privilege, upper school students can be dropped off in the front of the building before 7:50 a.m. After 7:50, all upper school students need to proceed through the carpool line.

• If you arrive after 2:30 p.m. for the afternoon carpool, please join the carpool line and do not pick up at the front circle.

• Seniors will be allowed to go out to lunch on Fridays after Labor Day. If your senior is allowed to go off campus, please fill out the form on the FACTS Family Portal. Here is the Senior Lunch Privilege Form you will find on FACTS.  

Parents' Council News

• It was wonderful to meet so many parents at the New Family Orientation and Family Drop-Ins! As a reminder, please consider supporting your Parents' Council by:

  • Becoming a member 

  • Signing up as a volunteer for Parents' Council events

  • Linking your Publix shopper card by logging into your Publix.com account and selecting The Fletcher School under My Publix Partners

  • Shopping for spirit wear clothing at our new Achieve Athletics store

• Wednesday, September 11, at 8:15 a.m. in the Rankin Room - All parents and guardians are welcome at our first Parents' Council Parent Meeting. 

  • Topics being presented include: Who's who in the room; Fletcher's SAIS re-accreditation; construction update and what is next; overview of PC events for 2024-2025--and so much more!
