We were recently notified that the application for the 2025-2026 NC Opportunity Scholarship program remains open until further notice. Families that apply now are awarded in order of application date, as additional funds are available. Families will be notified by late May whether an award can be offered.
We strongly encourage all families that have not already received an NC Opportunity Scholarship award for next year to apply as soon as possible. Use this link to apply: https://k12.ncseaa.edu/opportunity-scholarship/how-to-apply/
Important things to note:
The Opportunity Scholarship is NO LONGER a need-based scholarship. All families can qualify just by applying (as long as you reside in NC). Your household income will determine the amount of the award that you may receive, if further awards are offered.
You DO NOT need an IEP to apply or qualify for the Opportunity Scholarship. (That is only for the ESA, and that application has closed for 2025-2026.)
Your student MUST reside in North Carolina in order to qualify.
All NC Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ awards for 2025-2026 that have been either renewed or newly awarded by NCSEAA and accepted by families have been reflected in the families’ FACTS Financial tuition payment plans. Please review your tuition payment schedule in FACTS Financial as soon as possible and notify Tracy Grocott at tgrocott@thefletcherschool.org with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Your total tuition balance due has not changed as a result of these scholarships. We have created deferred payments (October 31, 2025, for Fall semester and March 31, 2026, for Spring semester) for the award amounts to be received directly from the state.
Families should contact OpportunityScholarships@ncseaa.edu or ESA@ncseaa.edu directly if they have questions about these scholarships.
The new and improved NCSEAA website for the NC Scholarships has lots of great information on qualification, how to apply, and maintain eligibility for the scholarships. Please visit https://k12.ncseaa.edu for step by step instructions, recorded webinars, and more helpful information to guide you through this process.
Tuition Payments for the 2025-2026 School Year
June is the first tuition payment month for the 2025-2026 school year for families on the monthly payment plan.
The first payment date for families on the semiannual and full pay payment plans is July 7.
Please log into your FACTS Financial account before your first payment date and ensure that the bank or credit card account set up on your payment plan is the one that you would like to use. Please note, if you have updated the financial account for your 2024-2025 FACTS payment plan in the last six months, it does not automatically update that information for the 2025-2026 school year. You will have to go into your FACTS Financial account and update that yourself.
If you are on a semiannual or full pay payment plan and are planning to pay by check, please email Tracy Grocott at tgrocott@thefletcherschool.org as soon as possible to let her know.
