Community News

Health Room Reminders for Cold, Flu, & COVID Season 

• Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. There have been many cases of COVID, the flu, a stomach virus, strep throat, and pink eye at the school.  

• Students with a temperature of 100 or higher must stay home. They may return to school when they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medication.

• COVID cases are on the rise across the nation. Click here to access The Fletcher School’s COVID-19 Decision Tree for help in navigating attendance expectations for students who test positive or exhibit COVID-like symptoms. 

Register for Before and After School Spring Activities & Athletics by February 2

• Thank you for your support of after-school programming during the Winter Trimester. 60% of our students in grades K-12 enjoyed participating in activities and athletics.

• Here is our list of Before and After School Spring Activities and Athletics.

• Registration opened this morning and will remain open until 9 pm on Friday, February 2.

Books, Brushes, & Talent - Complete Interest Forms

• We're excited to announce this year’s live Talent Show will be on Thursday, March 7. If your student would like to perform in this year’s Talent Show, please complete this interest form by Friday, February 2. 

• In addition to the Talent Show, we want to recognize students with a passion for visual art. If your student engages in visual arts outside of school hours and would like to display their work in the Rankin Room the night of the Talent Show, please complete this interest form by Friday, February 23.

Blood Drive on February 14 - Schedule Your Appointment

• Fletcher will hold its Second Annual Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 14, from 9 am-2 pm in collaboration with the Red Cross.

• Anyone 16 years of age and older in the Fletcher community may participate--students, parents and guardians, and faculty and staff!

• All blood types are needed, and there is currently a critical shortage of donors. 

• Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. One blood donation can save up to three lives. 

• Please contact Natalie Mays, Dean of Student Affairs, at nmays@thefletcherschool.org to schedule your appointment! 

2023 Payment Summary

• If you require a payment summary for tax purposes for 2023, please use the following instructions for FACTS:

• Log into your FACTS Financial account through your FACTS Family Portal.

• Click on View Details.

• Select View Payment Summary (blue box).

• Click on the drop-down box and select 2023.

• You can print to paper or PDF by clicking on Print in the upper right-hand corner.

2024-2025 Financial Aid Application

• The financial aid application for 2024-2025 is available on FACTS Grant and Aid. (After you have logged in to the FACTS Family Portal, click Financial on the left of the screen. Then go to Financial Links, and click on the Apply for Grant & Aid link.)  

• Applications are due by Friday, February 16, 2024.

• If you are interested in applying for financial aid from the School, please read the 2024-2025 Financial Aid Procedures.

Carpool Times Reminder

• Morning Carpool - 7:55-8:10 am 

• Lower School Afternoon Carpool - 3-3:10 pm 

• Middle School/Upper School Afternoon Carpool - 3:15-3:25 pm 

• After School Programs Carpool - 4:15-4:25 pm 

• Campus Closes at 5:30 pm, and students in Extended Day are signed out by parents at the Front Desk.

Open House Registration - Tell a Friend!

• The 2024 Admissions Open House dates are open for registration. In February, we have Open Houses on February 22 (In Person, Grades 6-12), and February 27 (In Person, Grades K-5).  

• Your referrals are often the inquiries that become students at Fletcher. Please share our list of Open Houses with anyone who asks about our program, and encourage them to register.

• Friday, February 9: Grades K-5 On-Campus Field Trip - Charlotte Ballet

Middle School News

• Teacher/Parent Conferences are on Thursday, February 1, and Friday, February 2. Please look out for a Sign-Up Genius from your grade-level team.

Upper School News

• Senior Exit Class has an upcoming field trip to the Matthews Library on Monday, January 29. See this letter for more details.

• The Iceland “All Aboard Meeting” is February 1 at 6 pm via Zoom.
