The English Workshop returned to face-to-face (presencial) teaching for our July and September intensive courses. Our 2020-21 school year started again at the end of September with face-to-face classes for all levels, with special measures taken to comply with prevailing Covid-19 regulations. Classes are cleaned throughout the day, rigorous social distancing is enforced and all students and staff have their temperature taken and wear masks.
Some students have opted for our 100% online classes and others are able to join their normal classes at a distance, through our novel 'hybrid' class format.
Everyone in the room wears a mask and keeps their distance. Tables and chairs are cleaned after every class and rooms are ventilated for at least 10 minutes. Students have their temperature checked on entry and use gel before and after the class.
Our youngest learners form 'bubble groups' of pupils who go to the same primary school and form a stable social group. Even so, strict hygiene measures are in place at all times.
This class has three students. The third student, Luisa, is participating online via Zoom.
Despite our special anti-Covid measures, students still have lots of fun. Classes are active, practical and focus on using English to communicate.
At The English Workshop students learn English. They also build their confidence to use the language and develop other life skills like speaking in public.
Our little learner 'bubble groups' continue to enjoy our innovative approach to language learning through play, creative activities with Lego and other toys, and storytelling. All materials are specific to the group and sanitized after each use.
