Known as "The General," William R. Cobb was a master tradesman and avid runner/walker who personified discipline, excellence, and servant leadership. Whether walking through a snowstorm to reach his post or competing in marathons across the East Coast, he led a life of unwavering dedication to his craft and his community.
Lace up your sneakers on Saturday, April 11, 2026, for a morning of fitness and fellowship starting at the Christian Church of Chester. This 5K walk and run is designed for participants of all ages and abilities, offering a chance to come together as one community to honor "The General" while promoting health and unity in our streets.
Your participation funds "The General’s Scholarship," providing critical support for students pursuing the skilled trades and human services, as well as youth mentoring and local service projects. Together, we are investing in the training and resources needed to build a stronger, more resilient Chester.
