The My Brother’s Keeper Prince George’s County Alliance (MBK-PGC) is a local action chapter of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, an initiative launched by the Obama Foundation to build safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color where they feel valued and have clear pathways to opportunity.
Our approach emphasizes Mentorship, Mental health, STEAM education, workforce training, and digital equity to address inequity for children.
Data-Driven Accountability: Tracking progress with measurable metrics.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigating systemic factors impacting workforce entry and economic security.
Policy & Infrastructure: Focusing on digital equity and broadband access.
Equity-Centered Methodology: Analyzing age-disaggregated data for transparency.
Support boys and young men of color in successful workforce entry.
Workforce Metrics: Track youth employment, labor force participation, and industry diversification.
Economic Goals: Close the youth-adult unemployment gap and increase median earnings.
Milestone 4 Focus: Aid boys and young men of color in transitioning to stable adulthood.
Stability Metrics: Measure postsecondary enrollment, degree attainment, and median income growth.
By combining mentorship, technology, and community engagement, we empower youth to shape their futures. Key achievements include:
Engaging over 5,000 youth and families in leadership, wellness, and tech programs.
Hosting over 100 community events and trainings in the DMV.
Forming partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local government for equity-driven initiatives.
