This week, our Year 6 children completed their SATs tests, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work, effort, and determination they have shown throughout the week. They approached each test with excellent perseverance and a positive attitude, giving their very best in every challenge. To help the children feel prepared and ready each morning, we also held a special SATs breakfast throughout the week, where the children enjoyed toast and orange juice together before the tests began. A big thank you goes to all the staff who kindly helped with the toast making and supported the smooth running of the breakfasts each morning. Well done, Year 6 — you have all been amazing! 

🏆 District Final Success🏆

We are pleased to share that Lena Foulds has been proudly representing Bedonwell School at District level football since November 2025.

On 9 May, at Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone, Bexley District faced West Kent in the final. Lena delivered an outstanding performance, keeping a clean sheet and helping secure victory for Bexley District.

Freddie is taking part in the 'Get Muddy, Race for Life' in support of Cancer Research UK.

He is running this event to raise money and awareness after his Nan was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Showing incredible strength, kindness, and determination, Freddie has already raised an amazing £350.

As a school, we are extremely proud of Freddie for his courage, compassion, and commitment to making a difference. He is an inspiration to us all, and we are incredibly proud to support him on this journey.

Our Year 2 children were excited to welcome Joe Nelson into school for a fascinating talk linked to their Flight History topic.

Joe shared his knowledge about aeroplanes from the past and present, explaining how they work and showing the children what it looks like inside the cockpit. The session brought learning to life and gave the children a wonderful insight into the world of aviation and engineering.

The children were incredibly enthusiastic throughout the visit and asked lots of thoughtful questions, showing great curiosity and interest in the topic. Thank you to Joe for inspiring our young learners with such an engaging and informative talk!

Big congratulations to Finley! 🎉

Back in March, Finley took part in trials for the U12 category to represent Bexley Borough at the TCS London Mini Marathon. Out of all the participants, only the 4 fastest boys were selected — and Finley earned his place! 👏

This weekend (25/04/26), he proudly represented Bexley Borough in the TCS London Mini Marathon U12 Borough Challenge. 🏃‍♂️

We are happy to welcome children who wish to ride their scooters and bikes to school. However, for everyone’s safety, children and adults must dismount their scooters or bikes before entering the gates. Please do not ride any scooter or bike around the KS2 playground or in our busy infant and junior milling areas before and after school. These areas can become crowded, and riding could lead to accidents or injuries. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our playgrounds safe for all our children and adults. 

It is really important for all children to drink water throughout the day, which is why children need to bring a water bottle into school. However, can we please ask that children only bring in either a disposable plastic or re-usable plastic water bottle. 

Some children are bringing in large metal water bottles which when knocked over can cause disruption in the class. 

Please can we also ask that Airup water bottles are not brought into school, these are expensive and can sometimes be knocked over in a busy classroom and damaged or broken.
