It has been a very busy and exciting couple of weeks in school since returning from the Easter holidays. The children have come back with a fantastic attitude towards their learning, showing real determination and perseverance in their work. It has been wonderful to see them settling back into routines and approaching their lessons with such enthusiasm and resilience.
We have also enjoyed a range of enriching experiences across the school. One of the standout moments was a special visit to 10 Downing Street, giving pupils a unique opportunity to learn more about government and life at the heart of UK politics.
Year 4 had an exciting Viking Day, immersing themselves in history through hands-on activities and learning all about Viking life, traditions, and culture. Year 1 enjoyed a “Creepy Class” visit, which sparked curiosity and creativity as they explored their topic in a fun and engaging way. Meanwhile, Year 3 took part in an energetic dodgeball event, where teamwork, sportsmanship, and plenty of enthusiasm were on full display.
Alongside these highlights, classrooms throughout the school have been buzzing with fun, engaging, and meaningful learning opportunities. It has been a joy to see the children so motivated and proud of what they are achieving.
Overall, it has been a fantastic start to the term, filled with memorable experiences and excellent learning across the school.
What an unforgettable experience for some of our Year 6 School Councillors and year 6 pupils!✨
They had the incredible opportunity to visit 10 Downing Street, where they spotted the famous Larry the Cat, walked along the iconic street, and even stepped inside Number 10 for a special tour!
The children absolutely loved every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime trip. It was inspiring, exciting, and something they will remember for years to come. We are so proud of how they represented our school—what a truly amazing day
A huge congratulations to two fantastic pupils from Mercury Class who have been named Platform Cricket Players of the Week! 👏👏
Both children have shown outstanding cricket skills, determination, and teamwork. Even more impressively, they have truly demonstrated our school’s PROUD values—especially UNITY, supporting each other and working together as a team. 💪🤝
We are incredibly proud of you both—keep up the amazing work!
Our Year 3 children had an absolutely fantastic time at the dodgeball event with Belmont! 🏐✨
The excitement was clear from start to finish as they threw themselves into every game with huge smiles and great energy. It was wonderful to see them making new friends, building confidence, and learning new skills along the way.
What made the day even more special was the incredible sportsmanship on display. Both schools supported and encouraged each other throughout, celebrating successes together and showing real teamwork both on and off the court. 👏
A brilliant day full of fun, laughter, and memorable moments—well done to all of our amazing pupils!
Year 4 had a brilliant time stepping back in history during our exciting Viking workshop! ⚔️🛡️
We were lucky to welcome special visitors who brought the Vikings to life with amazing, hands-on activities. The children fully embraced the experience, dressing up as Vikings and learning all about how they lived, worked, and explored.
One of the highlights was getting to handle and learn about the types of weapons Vikings used—what an unforgettable experience!
A huge thank you to our visitors for such an engaging and memorable day. The children had an incredible time and learned so much!
Year 1 had a fantastic time at our Creepy Claws workshop!
The children were amazed to meet a variety of animals, including a python, gecko, scorpion, hedgehog, two chicks, a frog and a tarantula.
Throughout the session, they learned about the five animal groups and discovered lots of fascinating facts about each creature. There were plenty of hands-on experiences too, with opportunities to gently stroke the python, gecko, hedgehog, chick and frog — and even feel some of the tarantula’s legs!
A brilliant experience that sparked curiosity, learning and plenty of excitement!

We are pleased to share that Year 5 classes visited the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich as part of a Tudor-themed educational trip.
During the visit, the children had the opportunity to step back in time and explore what life was like at the Tudor Palace in Greenwich. They learned about the differences between the lives of the rich and the poor during the Tudor period, developing a deeper understanding of social structures and daily life in the past.
A highlight of the trip was interacting with a character actor, who brought history to life through engaging storytelling and role play. The children also examined a range of historical sources, which supported them in building their knowledge and encouraged them to think critically about the past.
The visit provided a valuable and memorable learning experience, helping to enrich the children’s understanding of Tudor history beyond the classroom.
This week and last week, we celebrated our PROUD assembly, highlighting the children’s fantastic demonstration of our PROUD values: Perseverance, Respect, Optimism, Unity, and Discovery. Throughout the week, every child has shown great effort, kindness, and curiosity in their learning and interactions, truly embodying the spirit of these values. We are incredibly proud of how our pupils live out PROUD in everything they do!

We are happy to welcome children who wish to ride their scooters and bikes to school. However, for everyone’s safety, children and adults must dismount their scooters or bikes before entering the gates. Please do not ride any scooter or bike around the KS2 playground or in our busy infant and junior milling areas before and after school. These areas can become crowded, and riding could lead to accidents or injuries. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our playgrounds safe for all our children and adults.
It is really important for all children to drink water throughout the day, which is why children need to bring a water bottle into school. However, can we please ask that children only bring in either a disposable plastic or re-usable plastic water bottle.
Some children are bringing in large metal water bottles which when knocked over can cause disruption in the class.
Please can we also ask that Airup water bottles are not brought into school, these are expensive and can sometimes be knocked over in a busy classroom and damaged or broken.
