Taking advantage of the flexibility of digital design, Team Her-Storm explores the complexity of how sustainable fabric from different cultures can be fused together in a 10-piece collection under the umbrella of an iconic style period in the global history of fashion. With a focus on collaboration, community and cultures, the result of their creative process are designs and methods that are inspired, diverse and fit into a rapidly changing digital world.

Team hips

Team HIPS focus on inclusion and cultural representation in the age of the metaverse takes several steps in bridging the gap between digital fashion and minorities around the world. Their collection brings to the fore people that currently have little to no representation within the industry, utilizing augmented reality to broaden interactions with one of the minorities they represent. The styling and outfits highlight British Punk and African print and textile to signify their collaboration.

Team imagio

Team Imagio bakes 3D and 2D imaging and rendering technology into the client journey to allow fashion brands engage with their clients in ways that extend beyond the exchange of services for a commission. Developed by creatives offering bespoke services in knitwear, illustration and digital fashion, their technology-enabled service caters to clients who have a strong affinity for a brand and want to merge their personal tastes with a brand’s aesthetic/house codes; enriching the customer journey with opportunities to own or share ownership to unique digital assets or a digital asset representing one of their physical products which can be minted as an NFT or privately collected.

Team Maximòó combines elements from the Yoruba & Bangali cultures to celebrate beauty and acceptance in all forms bringing unity through diversity. Their 5-piece digital fashion collection - Krtàsà highlights fabrics indigenous to both cultures that have been locally produced for decades, body art and plastic being recycled/ reused as fabric.

Team outliers

With a mission to show the interconnectivity that can exist between physical and digital fashion production, Team Outliers harnessed technology to preserve artisanal production techniques and key aspects of the creation process of one of the most recognisable West African traditional garments using one of the oldest indigenous West African printmaking processes. The final result is a digital wearable with a corresponding physical garment presented as a short film.
