June 29th

On June 29th 2022 Amalgam Corp. filed their first non-provisional patent application with the USPTO. This patent covers their revolutionary continuous trichome separation technology. A system that according to CEO, Jaume Martinez Calvo, could shape the future of CBD processing: “the CBD industry currently uses ethanol or Carbon Dioxide based technologies to extract the chemicals from the hemp plant, we at Amalgam believe that process can be much cleaner. With trichome separation at its core we believe our process can deliver higher quality and throughput throughout the whole CBD extraction process.”

Martinez stated the importance of trichome separation by comparing CBD processing to making grape juice: “To make grape juice you need to harvest the grapes individually and press them in processing. What the CBD processing industry is doing right now is taking the whole tree into the press, that’s why they use so many chemicals to separate the target chemicals from the rest of the plant. We simply suggest grabbing the grapes, in this case the trichomes, before putting them into the press, in this case the processing system.”

When asked about the immediate future Martinez explained that Amalgam's next steps are to continue improving and advancing the technology while hitting the CBD Bubble Hash market with the product they produce.

March 23

Amalgam will attend the NOCO Hemp Expo to further expand our knowledge and connections in the industry. If you are attending please find one of us in the exhibition hall so we can meet!

December 5

Amalgam finished developing and testing the alpha unit proving continuous trichome separation is possible. Thus, ending the first phase of the business plan and moving one step closer to developing a full scale unit for trichome production.

Now, Amalgam will focus on gathering funds to begin building, testing, and optimizing the beta unit to begin production of trichomes.
