History of The Alternative Board
When the successful company that Allen Fishman co-owned went public, it engaged a highly-paid board of directors. Allen soon discovered that the company greatly benefited from the board of director's guidance. Allen recognised a need for a board-of-directors system that could provide counsel to small and mid sized business owners on challenges and opportunities they face and make it an affordable resource. Allen developed the methodology and founded The Alternative Board in 1990.
