Dear students and families,

Welcome to 8th grade math. This year we will be using google classroom as the platform to help students progress through the material.  Some Secrets to Success in math include: 

1. Attendance: come everyday to class and come prepared.

2. Be on time:  Walking in late disrupts the class and interferes with your own learning.

3.Homework:  Do all assignments promptly and carefully.  

4. Ask Questions:  As you read your text, listen in class, & work on assignments, write down or raise your hand & ask questions.  I am not a mind reader, I can not help you if you don’t ask me questions.  

5. Name:  Put your name on all assignments.  No name on an assignment will result in no grade in the gradebook!

6. Write clearly:  If I can’t read it, I can’t grade it.  

GRADING SCALE

In an effort to prepare students for SCHS,  the  grades will be calculated as followed:

• 25%  participation, classroom, homework

• 75%  test, quizzes, mastery checks, projects
