The Maker Club through GBB will be partnering with the Spencer County Historical Society and local AmVets to work on a beautification project at the Pioneer Cemetery in Taylorsville. Students will be researching what the requirements are for a cemetery to qualify as a pioneer cemetery, analyzing burial data to see if the local cemetery qualifies, working on beautification efforts, and creating signage for the cemetery. We are looking for community partners and mentors to help with the project this year, and our first scheduled activity will be a work day on Saturday, October 16th at 9 a.m. Contact Ronda Cox at SCMS for more information @ ronda.cox@spencer.kyschools.us.
