Introduction to the Writing Revolution
Welcome to the ACCE Writing Revolution google site. The Writing Revolution is a book that includes a number of strategies teachers can use to teach writing at the sentence, paragraph, and essay level. This site is designed to help break down the different strategies that the Writing Revolution uses and provide examples and templates that you can use in your classroom.
Use the buttons below or the navigation tabs to help you find what you are looking for. You can also always email Mr. Stone (stone@theacceschool.org) with specific questions you have.
Things to remember:
When teaching these strategies, make sure you explicitly teach the strategies through gradual release. Make sure to:
model the strategy a few times on the board or document camera, explaining what you are doing/thinking
Practice as a whole class, workshopping student responses on the document camera or board.
Let students practice in partners and individually and then review the answers
