Welcome to Chantry Middle School! We are so looking forward to meeting you and can’t wait to welcome you to your new school. Transition between schools is difficult at the best of times, but we find ourselves in a strange situation this year where many of our usual events and face-to-face visits which help to get you really excited about your move to middle school have been unable to happen.

Normally, you would spend a couple of days in school with us to meet the staff, meet new friends, find your way around and ask any burning questions that you might have about Chantry Middle School. After the recent government announcement about the wider reopening of schools, we must prioritise the safe return of our other year groups, allowing current pupils the opportunity to see out their school year with their former teacher and peers. This requires time and careful scheduling, and means we are therefore unable to offer a transition date in July. We are looking to invite our new Year 5 intake for their transition day in early September subject to future guidance from the Dfe. Further details regarding this will be sent out to you very soon.

Whilst we cannot do the physical transition as we normally would, we will do as much as we can over the coming half term to present on this page any information that we think will help you and your parents prepare for September. We will post all of our transition info on this page along with any forms that your parents will need to fill in and return to school.

We know you have been waiting a long time to visit and meet your teachers and we thank you for your patience and understanding; we will endeavor to communicate with parents and carers any further plans for a safe, face-to-face transition as soon as possible.
