Melbourne/Naarm’s up-and-coming folk whizz Lunic is blasting into the music scene with a sprinkle of fairy dust. With luscious vocals and dreamy soundscapes, Lunic has made her mark in the folk world with her recent releases ‘People Pleaser’ and ‘Teddy Bear’.
In her art, Lunic reflects her love of nature, human connection, and nostalgia through storytelling. Following the completion of her Bachelor of Music degree, Lunic has supported several artists including Australian icon Sarah Blasko, Berlin’s treasure Hayfitz, and Adelaide's TikTok sensation Aleksiah.
This February, Lunic hosted her debut headline show at the Cactus Room in celebration of the release of ‘People Pleaser’. Supported by Kimberly and Liv Mirrington, the night was filled with mutual fondness and admiration for the music and art shared. The single has received a lot of love, with over 1100 streams on Spotify, and over 80 tickets sold at her single launch. Lunic’s 'People Pleaser' was awarded first place in the 2022 Monash Popular Music songwriting competition, presented by Kate Miller-Heidke herself. Since then, the song has been performed in many hot spots across Melbourne, including Federation Square as part of Always Lives’ Garage Band event. Creating 'People Pleaser' was not only healing but empowering for Lunic, sparking inspiration for the accompanying songs in her EP.
