Evaluation Scheme

EVALUATION SCHEME: The evaluation of ED-II will have following components: Lab evaluation, Quiz and End Semester evaluation. The details of these evaluation components are given as below:

Lab Evaluation-1 (ECE): [20]

Lab Evaluation-2 (CSE): [20] (individual lab ECE [20] and CSE [20])

1. Lab experiment [8]

2. Viva [5] + Day-to-day performance [3]

3. Mid-term Report (ECE or CSE) [4]

Quiz: [10] (ECE+CSE)

Lab Evaluation-3 (ECE+CSE): [50]

1. Challenges (Bronze, Silver, Gold) [15+15]

2. Viva [10]

3. Final Report (ECE + CSE) [5]

4. Day-to-day performance [5]

The students are encouraged to complete three challenges: Bronze, Silver and Gold. These challenges are at different difficulty level and require incremental level of skill. These challenges are explained as below:

  • Bronze Challenge: In this challenge, group of student wok on single buggy. The buggy will follow pre defined track twice in clockwise direction, under full supervisory control. Full supervisory control means students need to control movement of buggy through wireless communication. It can detect an obstacle using ultrasonic sensor and will be able to parks safely. During the movement, it will be able to prints state of the track and buggy at each gantry stop. Figure show the track and buggy movement during bronze challenge.
  • Silver Challenge: Group of students who have completed bronze challenge, are encouraged to complete this challenge. In this challenge there will be two buggies, which will work under full supervisory control and will also detect obstacle. In the initial position both buggies will park in opposite direction on parking lane. When student issue go command, buggy 1 will start its journey and park under gantry on one parallel track to the parking lane. This parked buggy will send go command to buggy 2. On receiving this command, buggy 2 will start journey and will bypass parallel track where other buggy is parked. Buggy 2 will complete its journey by safely parking itself on parking lane. This parked buggy will send resume command to buggy 1 and then buggy 1 will resume its journey to safely park on parking lane and avoiding collision with other buggy. During this process all buggies will prints state of the track and buggies at each gantry stop.
  • Gold Challenge: To complete this challenge, one needs to complete silver challenge. In the initial position of silver challenge both buggies face each other oppositely however, after the completion of silver challenge both buggies park safely by facing each other. Students need to rotate both buggies by 180 degree to make them in the initial position of silver challenge and then silver challenge starts again. In the gold challenge, user will provide the number of loop or number of times silver challenge repetition occurs.
