September has been a busy and productive month in the classroom! We began the year by getting to know one another and building our classroom community. Students had opportunities to learn about their classmates, and establish routines and expectations for the year ahead.
In our history studies, we began working with Roman numerals, learning how to recognize, read, and use this ancient numbering system. We also took time to learn about the events of September 11, 2001, discussing the significance of the day and its place in American history in an age-appropriate and thoughtful way.
As we moved into our study of medieval Europe, students explored the geography of the region. We have also started Chapter 2 and our discussion of feudalism, examining the relationships among kings, nobles, knights, and peasants and considering how this system shaped life in medieval Europe.
It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and we look forward to continuing our journey through medieval history in the months ahead!
