ACADEMIC RESOURCES
MATH:
Please remember to practice addition and subtraction math fact fluency at home with your child! (How fast they can solve the problems!)
Ways you can practice at home:
Flashcards (make them with paper or index cards, get some at the Dollar Store, or check out our Google Classroom)
Write out a list of problems on paper and see how fast they can solve them. You can set a timer!
Practicing the 120 chart at home is important!
Horizontally on the chart- numbers go across by 1’s
Vertically on the chart- numbers go down by 10’s
Pointing to a number and knowing the place value- hundreds, tens, ones
READING:
Please remember to have your child read at least 15 minutes each night. :)
You can ask them these questions before and after they read:
What is the title, author, and illustrator of the story?
They can do a quick "picture walk"- look at the pictures before reading
As they read, you may ask "What do you predict will happen next?"
What is the setting? (where the story takes place)
Who are the characters?
Retell the story (beginning, middle, and end) with details and character names in order
After they read, you may ask them what their favorite part is and why?
What connections can they make to the key message of the story?
WRITING:
Having your child write at home in a journal is great practice to get their thoughts down on paper and practice their handwriting! It is important that stories include characters, a setting, a beginning, middle, and end.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM/ONLINE RESOURCES:

On Google Classroom, I have provided Fry Words, the Letter Naming Fluency (Letter Card Challenge), Addition & Subtraction Flashcards, etc.
Under the "Phonics Videos" tab, I posted fun videos that go along with topics that they have learned already and topics that they will learn that can be a form of enrichment for them. :)
Under the "Enrichment" tab, there will be a few assignments posted that are optional/extra!
