A little bit about me...
This year, I am continuing to serve as an instructional coach for the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, for grades K-8.
I have spent the past 23 years in public education, teaching fourth and fifth grades, sixth and seventh grade science, seventh and eighth grade math and algebra, gifted and talented, and STEM classes for grades K-6. I joined the staff of Swimming River School in 2000, and then spent the better part of ten years teaching at Tinton Falls Middle School. I am thrilled to now be serving all three schools in the district!
I have always loved learning, and the curiosities and un-answered questions in the scientific world were most interesting to me. However, once I found myself as a math tutor for middle and high school students, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey, as well as a M.Ed. in Education Leadership, also from TCNJ. I have also completed a STEM Educator Certificate Program through the Endeavor Program with NASA and Columbia University.
At home I love investigating with my own family, which includes my husband, three boys, and my dogs, Bailey and Charlie. My boys are in fifth, ninth and twelfth grades, so we have a lot of action and excitement happening. In my free time, I love yoga, spending time outdoors and on the beach, running, biking, reading and traveling.
I look forward to continuing the exploration of learning with you and your students!
