Lindsay Skelton brings 18 years of experience in education and has a passion for drama. She is an alumni of the University of Houston and has a Master's degree in School Counseling from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Lindsay grew up in Guymon, OK in a family devoted to the liberal arts. Her father, Assistant Coach Michael Patterson, taught competitive speech and debate at Guymon Public Schools for 45 years, which inspired her to start her own speech and debate legacy! In high school, she was a very successful competitor, earning three individual state championships and was a part of a team three 5A state titles with her team. She continued to compete at the collegiate level for West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. As head coach for the Texhoma Public Schools competitive speech program, Lindsay is committed to helping students with their communication skills because Lindsay strongly believes that good communication skills is a life long skill. During her time at Texhoma, she has won regional championships, individual state championships and has a team compete at the national level for the last 2 years. She hopes to continue building a program that gives every student an opportunity to shine their brightest.

Michael Patterson is a National Speech & Debate Association Hall of Fame inductee, recognized for his incredible 45-year career as head speech and debate coach at Guymon Public Schools. During his time at Guymon, he led 18 teams to Oklahoma 5A State Championships and made a lasting impact on generations of students. Now retired, Michael continues to support the world of competitive speech as Assistant Coach at Texhoma, working alongside his daughter, Head Coach Lindsay Skelton, and cheering on his two grandchildren who are current Texhoma competitors. His passion for speech and debate lives on through his family and students!
Grayson McGlasson is a 2024 graduate of Texhoma High School and a proud alumni of the Texhoma Competitive Speech team. During his senior year, he earned a state championship title in Humorous Interpretation (HI) showcasing his dedication, talent, and hard-work. Now as the Student Assistant Coach at Texhoma, he is passionate about leading students to success and recruiting new students to this activity that emphasizes communiation. Grayson one day would like to be a motivational speaker due to the skills he learned while participating in speech.
