Grade 3 students learn to legibly write cursive letters, words, and sentences as they increase their familiarity with the strokes that form all the letters and numerals in cursive handwriting.
size- the height of a letter, either short or tall, measured by the space it occupies above the baseline
shape- the form of a letter, determined by the basic strokes
slant- degree of tilt, or verticality, in written letters
spacing- the distance between letters, words, and sentences
Basic Cursive Strokes

downcurve- a downward counterclockwise motion
overcurve- stroke made with an upward clockwise motion
undercurve- a stroke made with an upward counterclockwise motion
