6V Webpage 24-25 - Weekly Update

September 19, 2025

What a great week! We finally got the new tables in my room and are settling into a new layout. We started our beginning-of-the-year NWEA testing in Language Arts and reading. A few students will be finishing up on Monday. Once Mrs. Zweemer and I have all results, we will be sending home a "Learning Report". All students were given their first weekly spelling test today. Look in Oncourse for those grades. They also should be bringing it home.

Please be mindful as the weather is so finicky lately, it gets very cold and very hot in my classroom. I encourage the students to wear layers. We never know what to expect when we walk through the classroom door.

We are settling in and learning the new routines. Switching classes can be overwhelming, but we are getting into the groove. This class is having an amazing start. We spent the first few days of school learning about how to stay positive. Ask your child about the following saying: "Remember the Lollipop, not the Rock!". We also decorated Wawa cupholders with positive quotes. These will be available at the Tuckerton Wawa. We hope to collaborate with Wawa again on this project. We began our first reading unit: Dahl and Narrative and have started with writing and focusing on a single moment. They will be writing about a moment that happened in the school cafeteria.

I hope you are all having a great summer! I cannot wait to get this school year started. 6th grade is such an exciting time with so many fun activities to celebrate you wrapping up your TES years.
